Commissions and service fees

For each booking, Canopy Festy charges a commission and service fees, to the Host as well as to the Visitor. The commissions pay for Canopy Festy's service: connecting members, booking and support. The service fees cover running costs: secure payment and bank charges, hosting and security of the site, and technical and administrative obligations.

They are calculated on the price set by the Host, excluding taxes: the price of the space for the chosen dates and of the services selected (drinks, meals…). They are expressed in the currency of the listing, chosen by the Host.

• Host side: 12% of the price, deducted from the payout: a commission of 10% and service fees of 2%, shown together on a single « Your fees » line.
• Visitor side: 8% of the price, added to the price: a commission of 6% and service fees of 2%, shown together on a single « Site fees » line.

The amounts are shown before payment, then on the order page and in the summary; the Host's amounts appear on the booking page. VAT applies to the commission as well as to the service fees, according to the rules below.

VAT on service fees. Canopy Festy's service fees, on the Visitor's side as on the Host's side, are subject to the VAT of the country where the reception space is located: for a space in the European Union, the VAT of that country for an individual, no VAT for a business whose VAT number is confirmed by the European VIES service (reverse charge); for a space outside the European Union, no European VAT. It is shown on a separate line, with the amount it applies to, before payment, on the order page and in the summary. The amount set by the Host is not subject to Canopy Festy's VAT; if the Host is subject to VAT, the Host charges it on their service (« I charge VAT » box in their account).
