Monaco: welcoming people during the Grands Prix

Who can welcome people

Owners, tenants or other rightful holders of a balcony, loggia or terrace with a view of the circuit of a Grand Prix, with the authorisation of the Public Security Department and of the Automobile Club de Monaco.

Conditions

• The balcony, loggia or terrace has a view of the circuit and is defined as such in the lease or the title deed.
• It is in good condition, as are its railings.
• Capacity: 2 people per metre of railing with a view of the circuit, rounded up.
• Any demountable structure or special installation requires prior authorisation.

Documents to provide

• Certificate of ownership or lease (if possible stating the balcony, loggia or terrace).
• Identity document matching the certificate of ownership or the lease.
• Inspection certificate from a compliance inspection company approved in the Principality.

Steps

1. Have the balcony, loggia or terrace and its railings inspected by a compliance inspection body approved in the Principality, at least 30 days before the event.
2. Gather the documents listed above.
3. Fill in the online form and upload the documents: the request is examined by the Public Security Department and the Automobile Club de Monaco, which reply by e-mail.
4. After the confirmation e-mail, collect the passes from the Automobile Club de Monaco staff at Square Gastaud (from March for the events concerned), then give them to the people you welcome. Without them, access to the space may be refused.
